Google Earth Flight Briefing

So I received my second Cross Country assignment the other day and realized I leave for a work trip tomorrow until the night before the trip. Therefore I need to get some of the planning done tonight…..

Aeronautical charts are great and all the electronic tools work well, but don’t forget about Google!!!! Google Earth that is. Learning to fly by visual reference is a learned task; things look so much different from the air. Here is some planning I did with the chart and google earth. I put my checkpoints in and created a path at 2500 ft; then used the fly function to get an adea if my route provided adequate visual references. Interesting…..
